Each fall I celebrate the sandhill cranes coming home to Crex Meadows Wildlife Area, and this pencil sketch is showing 3 birds on right and left side the two adult parents and young offspring in the middle. In the first year the young have no deep scarlet red can and you can see this in the sketch. Beauty in Crex Meadows Wildlife Area is not without see the grand bald eagle and in this original sketch the female is sitting in a tree next to her nest and her young eaglet while the male is searching to catch food to bring back to their baby eaglet.
