Each fall I celebrate the sandhill cranes coming home to Crex Meadows Wildlife Area, and this pencil sketch is showing 3 birds on right and left side the two adult parents and young offspring in the middle. In the first year the young have no deep scarlet red can and you can see this in the sketch.
